Judging of the 2018-19 EJ Brady short story competition is complete. The $2000 Mallacoota Prize for a short story of less than 2500 words goes to Amanda O’Callaghan from Brisbane for her story The Ice 1867. See all the 2018-2019 winners here.
The Mallacoota Arts Council recently launched the 2017-18 EJ Brady Short Story Competition. We apologise for this late launch, but felt it was important not to dissapoint our loyal entrants, so lets regard this as a better late than never situation. The categories for 2017–18 are unchanged from 2016-2017 but we have increased the prize money for the winner of the Betka Prize humourous short story to $1000. This has been done in an effort to encourage authors to submit more humourous short stories.
